Elegance Coral, also know as Elegant Coral or Ridge Coral, is a coral of medium hardiness. Elegance Coral, Catalaphyllia sp., likes low to moderate water flow and a low placement in the aquarium. To truly understand from whence its name is derived, actinic lighting should be employed. The actinic fluorescence causes the tips of the tentacles to glow in various shades of blue, green, orange, and purple. Elegance Coral will, on a daily basis, encroach upon and harm other corals as it expands under light and retracts at night. It will definitely benefit from occasional target feedings of plankton or brine shrimp. Elegance Corals are some of the hardiest Large-Polyp Stony Corals, so they are good corals for beginners.
