Plate Coral, Heliofungia actiniformis, is a coral whose placement in the aquarium is critical. Also known as Heliofungia or Long Tentacle Plate Coral, its long sweeping tentacles can reach out and sting other corals well beyond where one would expect its maximum reach to extend. Though it does require a high light level, it is perfectly content resting on the bottom of the aquarium. As with most other members of Large Polyp Stonys, maintaining a proper calcium level is an important key to successful development. It will definitely benefit from occasional target feedings of plankton or brine shrimp.
